Some really cool ideas and this step by step tutorial is really good. I try to stay away from arduino or other programmable devices in general as they tend to cost more and I like hacking hardware and adapting it to my needs, but sometimes that just wont work when you are attempting to create a really cool el wire costume or possibly an animation.

I will probably get one of these so I can try making some cool animated el wire posters or something.
